RENOLIT ALKORBRIGHT
PV-elements
There is a positive link between the output of pv-cells and the solar reflection of the roofing membrane laying underneath.
The effect on the output is two part:
Firstly:
A small part of the solar energy comes from the reflection of the solar rays from the roof.
In general it should be +- 1% for surfaces with an albedo* of 0.2. For surfaces with an albedo of 0.8 like our RENOLIT ALKORBRIGHT membrane this percentage could go up to 4-5%. In reality this means that there will be an output increase of 3-4% comparing with roof surfaces with a low solar reflectance.
Also:
There is a negative effect on the output of crystalline solar panels when the roof surface reaches higher temperatures.
An increase of 2°C means a decrease of 1% of output. Installing our RENOLIT ALKORBRIGHT membrane will lead to lower temperatures just above the roof surface and this will lead to a higher output of the pv-cells.
* The albedo of an object is the extent to which it diffusely reflects light from the Sun.
